You’ve just finished your Scrum Master training and you want to start exploring some issues we didn’t have time to cover? I spent the afternoon putting together a list of 29 books that I think you will find interesting. As part of the process I decided to experiment with doing the list as a mind map.
Let me know if this was helpful or if there was a key book I missed. In addition give some ideas of how you might have presented this.
Mark Levison has been helping Scrum teams and organizations with Agile, Scrum and Kanban style approaches since 2001. From certified scrum master training to custom Agile courses, he has helped well over 8,000 individuals, earning him respect and top rated reviews as one of the pioneers within the industry, as well as a raft of certifications from the ScrumAlliance. Mark has been a speaker at various Agile Conferences for more than 20 years, and is a published Scrum author with eBooks as well as articles on InfoQ.com, ScrumAlliance.org an AgileAlliance.org.
Dave Jacques says
Great list, really. I read a few in that list and many are already on my “next to read”. I’m glad you recommend them!
Al Martin says
Awesome list, thanks for providing so many options for expanding my knowledge!
Gishu says
Thanks for taking the time to create this. Appreciated.
Magnus says
A book i think should be on the list is scrum and xp from the trenches written by Henrik Kniberg.
Mark Levison says
Yes its a good book. Its not on the list because its part of the pre-class reading in my CSM course, so I assume people know about if they’ve not already read it.
Cheers
Mark

Very nice list! Thanks! Another one worth consideration from an HR perspective is Dan Pink’s “Drive”. It’s not specifically Agile, but it’s helpful in unlearning the traditional competition-based performance management practices that are so ingrained into most organizations’ cultures.
Mark Levison says
Agreed Dan Pink’s Drive is a well worth reading. Incidentally I find the videos contain most of what the book covers.
Cheers
Mark

Tanks for the great list! Our startup is learning Agile and Scrum and can always use good pointers on how things could be done. I love the MindMap!
Brad Rach says
Really appreciate this list Mark! (Although I can’t say I liked the xmind UI when I tried to view the fill map 😉 )
Mark Levison says
You’re welcome. I agree XMind turned out not to work as well as expected. In the next 12 mths I will produce an updated list in a more traditional format.
