In search of a Great Password Plugin for Firefox
What’s your favorite Firefox plugin for managing (and generating) many passwords.
I want:
- To remember just one password.
- To use my passwords from several computers – preferably without having to plugin my USB key to every machine I use
- My userid/password filled when I open a page with a login screen
- Requires as few keystrokes as possible
- A plugin that is still actively developed so that its likely to live on in future versions of Firefox.
Firefox plugins that I’ve found
- Magic Password Generator – https://addons.mozilla.org/firefox/874/
- Password Hasher – https://addons.mozilla.org/firefox/3282/
- SecurePassword Generator – https://addons.mozilla.org/firefox/135/
- PasswordMaker – https://addons.mozilla.org/firefox/469/
- Password Composer – https://addons.mozilla.org/firefox/670/
BTW Yes I could use a tool Keith Brown’s Password Minder (http://www.pluralsight.com/tools.aspx) – but I’m far too lazy to copy and paste.
Which tool do you use? Why did you choose it?

PassPack (https://www.passpack.com)
One master login gains you access to an online service (no USB) accessible from any computer with an Internet connection. Not browser specific (browser upgrades won’t change performance). The automatic login is coming soon (it’s in alpha test) and development is hyperactive.
Have fun!
