A friend just asked me what tool I use to recover files from a corrupt NTFS filesystem. I had this problem three years ago and use GetDataBack for NTFS to recover my files. It did very well with jpgs etc. but failed on a large pst file (there were probably chunks missing).

I’ve also heard other people say good things about Gibson Research’s SpinRite and PC Inspector File Recovery (freeware), File Scavenger.
