ScrumMaster Training the Team building a website

From an ScrumMaster Training from an Ottawa based trainer

Mark has the approach and experience you need in order to learn Scrum. In fact he takes you beyond the mechanical parts and guides you through the leadership aspects so critical in successful applications of Scrum. It really was an enjoyable course. Learned Lots. Now I need to dig into all the resources he gave us – Sean Robson – Project Manager – INSPRO

This is a very engaging and informative training experience that goes profoundly beyond textbook learning. I absolutely recommend this course to my fellow PMP’s (Project Management Professionals) and to anyone who participates in I.T. Development projects. The engagement format of this course is a real differentiator. Ideal for impatient & over educated learners like myself. Paul Gill – Project Manager – Quercus Solutions

Mark is very knowledgeable and has the capacity to inspire change at personal as well as organizational level. Xavier Francis – Lead BA – Alert Pay

I would recommend this course to anyone who has said “I have heard of Scrum, and it won’t work here”. Some of the ideas presented in this course may open your mind. – Steve Oately – Developer – Private Government Agency

Delivering high quality software, under pressure is hard. Scrum is an iterative framework to help you do that and have fun along the way. Having practiced Scrum for over 10 yrs I can tell you its hard to do. I will help you avoid many of the worst problems.

In this two day course you will use Scrum to build a new application, learning how it feels to be part of Scrum team and how Scrum works. The two day course that is a mix of exercises, lecture and open discussion. Along with the exercises the course itself is run using a “Scrum” like process with a product backlog, estimates and even acceptance criteria giving students a chance to see how we handle changing requirements in Scrum.

After completing this course you will:

  • have an excellent understanding of the Scrum Basics (principles, roles and meetings)
  • know how to go from Release Planning to Project Completion using Scrum
  • know the value of User Stories and Relative Estimation
  • understand how to build a high performance team
  • know how to reduce time to market and increase quality
  • know how to create a culture of learning and continuous improvement
  • fulfill the requirements of the Certified ScrumMaster Program including preparation for the CSM Exam

Finally this is one of the few CSM courses where you’re likely to discuss the neuroscience and psychology of teams.

This course qualifies for 14 PMI PDU’s for PMP renewal.
